WITH REGARDS TO COVID-19: A LETTER TO MY DEAR PATIENTS
Dear Patients,
I hope you and your families are keeping well during these difficult and challenging times. We are looking forward to welcoming you back to our office. The staff at Kitsilano Smiles have been busy researching the best ways to protect you and your family, as your health and safety are of utmost importance to us.
We have always been diligent with our sterilization and sanitation procedures and be assured we will take extra measures during this time. All unnecessary objects have been removed from the reception area and the number of people waiting will be limited. If you wish to bypass the waiting room for your appointment simply call from your vehicle and ask if we are ready for you. Hand sanitizer, facial tissues and a trash bin are available in the waiting area, and you are welcome to have a mask, if you wish. Staff will be screened daily with temperature checks and a symptom checklist.
As per the College of Dental Surgeons, patients will be asked to fill out a screening questionnaire before coming to their appointment. The form will be e-mailed. Please fill the forms and return them by e-mail before your appointment. In case you don’t receive them, please download it from our website here.
Upon your arrival, you will be screened one more time and your temperature will be taken before you enter the treatment area. In the treatment area we will ask you to gargle with a mouth wash rinse.
Equipment and examination rooms are cleaned between every patient, as always, with medically recommended cleaners/disinfectants. High traffic public areas will be cleaned after every patient. Our HVAC system has been thoroughly checked. Most importantly, I am very excited about technological improvements I have made to the practice. I have received or will soon be receiving the following new equipment: A Zoom whitening system, a 5D intraoral scanner, and a Swiss made air purification system which reduces aerosols, bacteria, airborne viral particles, and mercury vapors from dental procedures to almost zero.
We will be opening on May 27 and slowly transitioning towards returning to our normal hours. The staff at Kitsilano Smiles are eagerly waiting to see you again, because your oral health is so important to us. We need your smiles to brighten these gloomy times.
